A bundle of three beautiful Vintage French Books which I sourced at an Antiques Fair in Paris. x3 vintage French books with classic titles by Victor Hugo and a beautiful green cream and gold colour scheme.
A beautiful vintage styling piece for your home, these lovely old books come sold as a set - they are hardback and in good vintage condition - well used, but are not ripped. the spines have a little staining and discoluration due to their age and use - please see photos.
These gorgeous little books from the Collection Nelson were in fact printed in Scotland. It is unusual to find a British publisher producing large quantities of foreign books but the publishing firm of Thomas Nelson and Son became famous for them. They found a gap in the French market between the luxury books and the then current cheap editions and were able to exploit it. Hence the classic cloth bound cream and green books evolved.
Printed between 1905 and 1920 they remain a great styling piece and talking point for your bookshelves!
Perfect for placing upon a shelf, these books all have a unique patina and they go beautifullly together - try them stacked on a shelf tied with some pretty ribbon!
