I don't know about you, but I am increasingly drawn to home crafts. I think it's a reaction to the last few turbulent years and with more time spent in our homes, the more important it is to create your own space with your own style. It's your haven. And your home.
This festive season, I'm really hunkering down and gettting ready to enjoy my home and all its comforts.
I'm not super crafty by nature, but i'm loving some of the easy Christmas decor ideas that i've seen recently.
This year, I'm drawn to Scandi inspired festive vibes, with mint green, grey and white featuring heavily, as well as some simple and striking (and easy!) striped stars.
I find this style blends really beautifully with my vintage home decor, as it all adds together to create character, texture and patina that adds interest and warmth to my home. Far from the garish plastic and glitter, i'm enjoying a more muted palette that feels so relaxing and like being enveloped in a warm hug!
Here are a few Christmas craft and styling ideas i've been inspired by for this holiday season.
Salt dough star wreath from Shelley Carline Design
If you're on Instagram, you must follow @shelleycarline_design as she has some great considered ideas for Christmas home styling.
She has recently made a wonderful salt dough star wreath (similar to this one I own and that i've styled up with a mint green glass demijohn) and it's inspired me to make another with my eight year old! I love its Scandi feel.
Striped star decorations from Matilda Goad
Matilda Goad not only has the most beautiful homewares, but her own home is a personal object of fascination and desire for me! I just adore her aesthetic and find endless inspiration in her Instagram.
These striped stars look super simple to make, again, there's a green and white Scandi vibe that I am really drawn to this season, and it's simply paper, glue and scissors!
Paper stars from Two Grey Birds
My vintage dealer friends Carmel and Martin of Two Grey Birds have the prettiest paper stars made out of old books. Now i'm not advocating tearing up books, but if you have some old ones that are falling apart, or some old papers, it's a lovely and easy craft to do.
Don't they look simple and stylish? I can see them hanging from my beams with some fairy lights threaded through them!
I hope these ideas have inspired you to have a go at some easy and stylish Christmas crafts! Perfect for styling your festive looks at home.
